Host Question: Are there specific fields or types of places to work that would typically pay better in this industry?

Guest Answer: I have found just through my career path and journey that moving into more of a freelance independent contract I can charge significantly higher rates working with private practice entities than I could working for hospital or a nursing home. That said, you know, your hourly rate is significantly higher, but I’m carrying my own health insurance, my own work environment. I don’t have a four zero one k. I don’t get paid time off. I don’t get holiday pay. So there’s a lot of trade offs when it comes to negotiating your salary if you’re an independent contractor versus working for somebody else, but there’s a lot of perks as well in terms of your free time and flexibilities.

Guest Answer: I think compared to like being a wellness coach or maybe working in the food service industry, you will probably end up making more if you’re consulting or if you’re working for like a sports team or doing like really individualized, really like finding something niche that you’re really good at. And getting into that area.
